Case study at a glance

Introduction
There was a dearth of stainless steel pediatric dental crowns manufacturers in the market and those supplying, priced it at exorbitant rates, making it difficult for dentists to acquire quality crowns for their patients.
The client entered the pediatric dental crowns market in order to facilitate an easy supply of the products to dental clinics and hospitals. Today, the company is manufacturing and supplying affordable crowns, catering to the underserved children with high quality support at reduced cost.
The problem statement
As the vision grew, so did the demand and soon our client was supplying to major dental clinics & hospitals in and around the region. While this growth was good for business, it was getting trickier to track all the inventory, purchase and supply.
They realized the need for a digital solution that would be scalable and more secure for their inventory management. Since the client has a lean workforce, with an even leaner back office administration staff, automation of the entire process, right from inventory management to product logistics, was on the top of the demand list. They also wanted to integrate shipping and tracking information to the solution to make order management less cumbersome.
The solution
Client was looking for a web solution that would manage and track all orders with minimal process and tools. The solution was envisioned to integrate and generate shipping labels for their orders as well as manage the products and their pricing. The client also wanted the solution to be equipped with data analysis, report generation (based on the data) and invoice management as well.
This debriefing session with the client helped Coventus assess the need factor here and outline the ERP system that would fit the bill.
The solution comprised of value services like Product Categorization and Customer Management to help client view data related to inventory, orders and sales. This data is secured and granted modular level access based on roles.
In order to automate logistics, we also synced it with Ship Station – a shipping software, to integrate with major carriers, generate shipping label, print it and track the order as well.
Moreover, Coventus added provisions to audit all the tasks performed in the system and create elaborate & relevant reports on stock availability, month-on-month sales which helps the client plan ahead of time.
The solution was implemented using ASP.NET MVC and Azure capabilities while the Azure compute services used are App Service and Azure SQL.
A team of .NET Architect, Azure experts, .NET testers, .NET developers, UX developers and Solution Architect (UX) worked on building the solution and took about 10 weeks to implement it, including requirements analysis, UX design, implementation, UAT and the final launch.
