Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Coimbatore
Role Overview
We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to provide technical assistance and support for desktops, laptops, LAN/WAN networks, and IT assets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic networking issues, with added exposure to modern cloud and endpoint management platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues for end-users.
- Perform installation, configuration, and updates of operating systems and applications.
- Manage LAN network connectivity, including basic switch, router, and cabling support.
- Enroll and manage devices using Microsoft Intune and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and maintain IT assets (desktops, laptops, accessories) through proper asset management practices.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements when required.
- Ensure timely logging, tracking, and closure of support tickets.
- Support users with antivirus, security updates, and system performance checks.
- Assist in maintaining IT documentation related to assets, incidents, and solutions.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office apps, and commonly used applications.
- Basic understanding of LAN/WAN, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Intune device enrollment, Azure Cloud, and Microsoft 365 admin tasks (advantageous).
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
